Shannon was first introduced to Pilates to address chronic pain from long-distance running. Those initial private sessions proved both rehabilitative and strengthening, thus igniting a passion to help others heal through movement.
Shannon is an energetic and passionate Pilates purist. Her detailed nature challenges clients with a focus on form, choreography and tempo. She has a knack for improving flexibility in runners and athletes!
I cannot say enough about Shannon, who I most frequently practice with.... I feel cared for, part of a special practice and have gained remarkably both physically and emotionally as I've learned to reconnect with my own body and mind in new ways.
As a mother to three young kids, having a healthy and functional body is paramount to keeping up with her crew. Her goal in each session is to help facilitate the client’s awareness of their mind and body, help them build strength and stability, and feel challenged and renewed after the session.
Shannon has also experienced the benefits of Pilates for pre- and post-natal fitness and enjoys working with postnatal women regain their strength and stamina.
I started working with Shannon with sessions on the reformer and cadillac when I was 7 months pregnant and I am so glad I did. She challenged me each session. Yet I never felt I was doing anything unsafe for my baby or my body because of Shannon’s intricate knowledge and her experience. Now, at almost 7 months post natal, Shannon has helped me to regain core strength and balance - and I actually feel like I am in better shape than I was before my pregnancy.
Shannon is a graduate of The University of Texas. In 2015, Shannon began the 600-hour Somaspace Classical Pilates Apprenticeship, which she completed in 2016. In 2017, she continued her education with an intensive bridge program at Somaspace, which deepened her understanding and practice of the original Pilates method, as designed by Joseph Pilates.
